But unlike the core group, Janice’s story often went uncelebrated or was broken up based on how her story affected the main group of Friends. That’s right, viewers could see Janice grow up right before their eyes from the first season to the last. Unlike the other extraneous pals of the Friends, Janice made an appearance or had a story arc in every season. Yes, Janice from Friends evolved throughout the show, too. To boot, girl even got a decent slice of character development. ![]() Fans know this because she even got her own conclusion at the end of the series. Just like the rest of the Friends gang, Janice grew up, survived her 20s, and lived happily ever after. The friends frequently talk through their problems openly and honestly with one another, which could be viewed as a model for communication within families.Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler, and Ross… and Janice? Love her or hate her, there’s no denying that there was a seventh friend, and it was Janice. For example, Joey's "libido" (which borders on predatory behavior, like when Rachel jokes that "taking care of a drunk naked woman sounds like a job for Joey!" and he lunges for the woman, only to be held back by Chandler). Jokes that lampoon personality traits are one of the series' weaknesses. While the characters take on more responsibility over the course of the series, in most ways the friends cling to their idiosyncrasies and compulsions rather than display more maturity.
